Question: Hello Dr, I am 32 weeks pregnant, my problem is regarding weight, I gained only 2 kg throughout pregnancy. Due to which I am wording about my baby's weight, at 28 week I diagnosed by gestational diabetes, which I controlled by following strict diet plan, during this process I lost 3 kg of weight. Earlier 28 weeks I gained total 5 kg weight, but now I reduced 3 kg, I m taking protein diet as much as I can but still nothing working for me , before pregnancy my weight was82 kg now it is 84 kg

Answer: प्रेगनेंसी में किसी प्रकार की कोई भी diet होना नहीं कीजिए प्रेगनेंसी में सब खाइए या बेबी ग्रोथ के लिए बहुत ज्यादा जरूरी है आपको wet बिल्कुल भी loss नहीं करना है सिर्फ बढ़ाना है डिलीवरी ho जाने के बाद आप सारी प्रकार की डाइट फॉलो कर सकती है।

The additional protein is essential to meet growing tissue demands. Milk, Yogurt and Cheese This group is a major source of protein, calcium, phosphorus and vitamins. Dairy products are one of the best sources of calcium, and your body needs a lot of it during pregnancy. Eat low fat dairy products if you are worried about too much weight gain in pregnancy. Cheese, milk, yogurt are excellent foods for pregnancy. Fruits This group provides Important nutrition during pregnancy like vitamins A and C, potassium and fibre. Fruits such as oranges, grapefruit, melons and berries are the best sources of Vitamin C. It’s easy to eat three or more servings of fruit a day: juice or fresh fruit for breakfast, fresh or dried fruit for a snack, a fruit salad with lunch and a cooked fruit dessert with dinner. Vegetables One should have raw, leafy vegetables like spinach (palak) and other vegetables like carrots (gajar), sweet potatoes (shakarkand), corn (makka), peas (matar) and potatoes. These foods contain vitamins A and C, folate, and minerals such as iron and magnesium. They are also low in fat and contain fibre, which helps to alleviate constipation. Breads, Cereals, Rice and Pastas This group provide complex carbohydrates (starches), an important source of energy, in addition to vitamins, minerals and fibre. Pregnant women need 6 to 11 servings daily from this group. Grain products are also a good source of protein, which is the building material of body tissue for you and your baby. Many grains are enriched with B-vitamins and iron. Fats, Oils and Sweets Use sparingly, since these products contain calories, but few vitamins or minerals. Fats should not make up more than 30 percent of your daily calories. Try to select low-fat foods. Iron-Rich Foods many Indian women are anaemic (from monthly blood loss, improper diet or previous pregnancies), you may want to fortify your iron levels even before becoming pregnant with such foods as meat, raisins and prunes or beans, soy products and spinach. Your body is better able to absorb iron when consumed with foods rich in vitamin C, such as citrus fruits, potatoes and broccoli. Folic Acid Pregnancy doubles a woman’s need for folate (folic acid or folacin). Foods rich in folic acid include liver, deep green leafy vegetables.

उत्तर: Hello dear, If you are in the healthy weight range before becoming pregnant,  then ideally you should gain between 11.5 kg and 16 kg: 1-1.5 kg in the first three months then 1.5-2 kg each month until you give birth. Sometimes women lose weight in the first trimester, then add pounds slowly over the next two trimesters. Also, your body uses more calories during pregnancy, so if you don't change your diet, you'll probably lose some weight, or not gain weight.  Eat a balanced and nutrition rich diet. Try to keep your diet as natural as possible with loads of fresh fruits and vegetables. Also include whole grains, proteins and complex carbohydrates to your meals....Take your prenatal vitamins regularly. सवाल: I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at around 30 weeks (baby weight - 1.4 kg). But I was able to control my sugar levels with strict diet control. During my last visit at 33 weeks, my weight had reduced by nearly 2 kgs and the baby now weighs 2.1 kg. Is the baby's weight normal for a 33 weeks gestational diabetic mother?
उत्तर: There will always be a mention of estimated fetal weight in your ultrasound report which will be plus minus of 200 to 300 grams and that means your baby weight can be 2.2 or 2.3 kg so you should not worry. the baby weight is good the only thing is you need to maintain proper diet since diabetic ladies need to control their diet as well as see which fruits are not causing them gain sugar. otherwise sugarcane juice is best to increase baby weight as well as jaggery but since you are diabetic you shall not take these two although taking banana peach Apricot plum this will be a good option rather than eating grapes mango or papaya..
