Question: Hi I am 37 week 5days pregnant, my baby is in cephalic position but head is not yet fixed on pelvic bone. How I will be knowing that head is engaged, I mean is there any sign by which I can understand that head is engaged or not. and if head will not get engaged is there any possibility of labor pain??
Answer: Every labour is different, and no one can say for sure exactly when your baby will start to move into the position for birth.
Generally speaking, first babies tend to engage from about 34 to 36 weeks. However, some babies only engage once labour starts. If your baby hasn't engaged by the time you go into labour, it's likely that the power of your contractions will soon push him down.
Question: What will happen is head of the baby is not engaged?
Answer: Hi,
generally babies start engaging in 34 to 36 weeks. but some babies will only start engaging before labor starts.
therefore do not be worried if the baby has not engaged yet.
at labor, the increasing uterine contractions will probably push the baby into the pelvis.
Question: If baby not engaged the head in pelvic then normal delivery is possible or not
Answer: Hi!
The baby has to drop first, engage its head in the birth canal and try to make its way thats how the normal delivery happens.
Hope this helps!
