Answer: Hi. Once baby is 6 month old weaning shoukd be started. Start with fruit pureed, as it’s easy to digest. Mashed bananaStewed apple Well steamed and pureed vegetables like carrots, sweet potato, pumpkin , beans, Pulse soup (moong dal ka pani)Rice Water (Chawal ka pani) Homemade single-grain cereals like rice, barley, oats mixed with breastmilk or formula milkSteamed and pureed fruits like pear, avocado, peach, chikoo. You can try the homemade vegetable soup for your baby. Pureed vegetables (sweet potatoes, squash),Pureed fruit (apples, bananas, peaches),Semi-liquid, iron-fortified cereal, Small amounts of unsweetened yogurt (no cow's milk until age 1). Always follow 3 days-wait-rule. That means you must keep a gap of 3 days between two new foods. This is the best way to check food allergies in babies. Stop feeding that particular food in case of food allergy. Don’t add breastmilk or formula milk during cooking, it should not be heated directly on the flame. Add breast milk or formula milk once the food is ready to eat for your baby. Baby food must be soft, properly cooked and easy to chew. Start with a very small quantity of 1 spoon and slowly increase the portion. Weaning food must be a single grain food.Always feed freshly cooked food to your baby. Do not add salt, sugar, honey to your baby’s food till baby is 1 year of age. Good luck.
Answer: Baby food Hi dear, Yes,you can start giving solid diet once your baby is 6 months, along with breastfeed.remember the motive is to introduce variety of solids for taste and texture and not to increase weight through it.start very slow by introducing one solid at a time.watch out for any kind of indigestion or allergies.Home cooked food is more beneficial as they are fresh and free from any preservatives. Try giving him mashed banana, boiled mashed apple.ragi porridge with pinch of jaggery. Mashed boiled rice with daal water. Clear vegetable soups, tomato soups .mashed veggies like carrot and potato.homecooked idly is easy to digest too.khichdi is excellent now.you can also add some spices like jeera to add flavor.remember not to put salt in food before 1 year.youay add just a pinch so it doesn't appear bland.beleive me that much salt is just right.donot introduce cow milk products before 1 year,as this could give baby lactose intolerance.whole wheat roti dipp d it daal could also be given .juices should always be given in diluted form and never concentrated from.biscuits should be avoided too. Also refer the healofy app for daily updates on baby development and growth,as well as pregnancy care.it also gives you enormous info on post delivery baby care and diet.donot miss out!

Question: Please tell me about my baby's food chart
Answer: Hi, by 9 months, your baby may have few teeth, swallows food more easily and started sitting confidently. Hence 9 months is the best time to introduce most of the family foods in the form of minced or chopped (with few exceptions which includes salt, sugar, honey and cow’s milk).  You can try introducing your baby to finger foods like boiled vegetables just arrange them in a plate and give , also can give the food decorated with some smileys etc., so that baby get attracted to eat the food. Please introduce one food at a time in wait for three days and check if there is any allergic reaction, if you do not find any allergic reaction you can just continue the food. Please do not give cows milk till 1 year of age as the baby's digestive system is sensitive it won't be able to digest cows milk you can continue with the breastfeed. You can give all fruits except citrus fruits, all seasonal vegetables with no exception including cucumber, corn, spinach and mushrooms, almost all cereals including pasta and mixed cereals, toor dal, bengal gram dal, soybeans, all dairy products except cow’s milk, in non vegetarian you can give minced chicken, fish and egg yolk. For 10 months old baby you can offer 3 meals per day. Rest should be breastfeeding or formula feeding, meal timing as per your baby preference. Hope this helps. Here is an approximate amount: Cereal – 1/4 to 1/2 cup Vegetables – 1/4 to 1/2 cup Fruits – 1/4 to 1/2 cup Dairy – 2 to 3 tbsp Meat/Protein – 4 tbsp Please include water as well.
