Question: I did 1st scan today, my lmp is 27july.scan shows 5-6 weeks gestational age, FHR:100,yolk sac seen, tiny fetal pole seen. Is this normal??
Answer: Hi dear, Congratulations. Generally, from 6 ½ -7 weeks is the time when a heartbeat can be detected and viability can be assessed. A normal heartbeat at 6-7 weeks would be 90-110 beats per minute. The presence of an embryonic heartbeat is an assuring sign of the health of the pregnancy. Yolk sac also seen for you. Fetal pole is also there. So don't worry dear. It is normal. You get further clarifications from your gynecologist with your scan reports. Hope this will help you.

Question: Ultrasound scan shows gestational sac 7.6mm on 7th aug and 10mm at 21st aug no yolk sac or fetal pole seen..it is normal to fetal pole not showing et done on 7th july
Answer: Hello Dear If you're only seven weeks, then that's normal. The fetal pole is a thickening on the margin of the yolk sac of a fetus during pregnancy. It is usually identified at 8 weeks with abdominal ultrasound imaging, and 7 weeks with vaginal ultrasound imaging. However it is quite normal for the fetal pole and normal heart beat to be audible to not be visible until about 9 weeks. The heart usually starts beating some where in the 6th-8th week. So don't worry at all, just give it some time. Congrats on your pregnancy!
