Question: My fasting sugar level is 104 after strict diet.. it is not coming down... My doctor said fasting level should be below 90.. what should i do to lower it down?

Include more proteins in your diet,that includes dairy products,lean chicken, fish , lentils, nuts and seeds
Take lot of vegetables in your diet, avoid starchy vegetables like potatoes , peas ... Because it will increase the sugar level. Intake of fiber rich fruits like apples,pears , guava will help a lot
Avoid sugar, caffeine, soft drinks, pastries,oil fried food
Regular exercise in pregnancy will keep your sugar in control,go for mild walk morning and evening
Make yourself engaged in some activities
Try maternity yoga, don't get stressed, relaxed and be happy, have a safe and happy pregnancy..

In pregnancy,sugar fluctuations are common.and women tend to get gestational diabetes.it is due to hormones and lifestyle.hormones you can't control,directly.so change your lifestyle by altering something's in diet and exercise.you can include lot of fibre in diet,complex carbs like oats,brown rice,whole wheat,quinoa.avoid all sugary stuff,refined food items.eat clean home cooked food.including walking daily could be sufficient to bring your sugar level in range.
