Question: My 4 months daughter is having hard stool and she cries a lot at the time of motion. Pls help
Answer: Offer her prune, apple or pear juice or purées of the same fruits. (Do not give her applesauce, though, with actually hardens the stools.) Kiwis and apricotsare also good.
Vegetables that are healthy and easy on her tummy are avocado and sweet potato. Broccoli and beans may also mitigate constipation.
Fiber can be powerful in mitigating constipation. Consider giving your baby small amounts of fiber-rich cereals, homemade oatmeal porridge, whole-wheat pasta (if you have already introduced gluten) and brown rice – rice is great for practicing the pincer grasp too!
And make sure she drinks a lot of breast milk or water (or formula if that does not make her constipated). Breast milk or formula will continue to be the most important part of her nutrition for several more months, so if she is formula fed, do not give her so much water that she drinks less formula.
In addition to the diet, other ways to mitigate constipation are the following:
A warm bath
Movement! Play with your baby or toddler to make her move around as much as possible! Being still is a surefire way to increase constipation in any person.
Question: My baby is 4 months 12 days and she has nt passed her motion for past 3 days and she is nt even drinking milk
Answer: Hello Dear Mom,
Not to worry at all.... Breastfeed babies especially if they have not started solid foods, can easily go two weeks without a poopy diaper once they are 2-3 months old u should wait & then consult the paed. If ur baby doesn't show any sign of discomfort, pees 8-10 times daily, is gaining weight & is active & playful then please please dont worry. Babies can go without pooping for days... my paed had said that breastmilk is so pure & easily digestible the body doesn't form any stool...does ur baby cry when u place hands on his stomach? if yes then take to doc immediately else if he plays normally, no need to worry.
So pls wait for few more days & then consult the paed & try the home remedies..
