Answer: Hi dear cough and cold is a very common problem for babies around this time and it actually keeps on happening till the time baby starts getting immune towards it but since the baby is only 5 and a half months old there are very limited scope of treatment now if you want to see a doctor and over the baby medicine it's a separate thing you can go I didn't do that but usually cough syrup does not help in treating cough it is basically for our peace of mind but to treat cough you need to target the cold which is there in the baby soap to get rid of cold what you can do is you can give a lot of steam bath to your baby feed breast milk as much as possible so that it fights off the germs you can also use nasoclear nasal drops it is very good for blocked nose and warm oil massage will also help the baby to get rid of it and why making the baby sleep on the bed please make the head elevated a little so that the body is a little slanting and the baby does not have any issue in breathing.. Hope this helps!
