Question: Hi my daughter is one year and 4 week old though she eat she is not gaining weight she is becoming very lean day by day
You need to introduce protein rich diet, as protein help in weight gain,thus for baby you can introduce different types of milkshake like banana, chikoo. Give your kid boiled egg daily,butter, chicken, boiled and mashed pulses cutlet , stuffed paranthas,khichri with lots of vegetables, soybean chunks are great source of protein, so help in weight gain. Kids should be healthy not obese, so if your baby is active give him all foods that help in overall growth.
Increase in body weight not just mean making the baby look chubby,but also healthy interms of bones,immunity.
try making the kid drink milk with dry fruits powder ,dates, ragi malt, fruits ,bananas,yogurt. dal ,ghee,almonds ,yogurt help in increasing body weight.almonds are also good to boost memory .
almonds can be used in the preparation of oats, malts after being soaked for approx. 6hrs.
rice or any other rich in carbohydrates like sweet potatoes (help in fighting diseases) .
