Question: Hi, Can i introduce potato as first solid food for my 6 months old baby.
Answer: Hi dear,
Due to their lower level of important nutrients and a high amount of starchy carbohydrates, it would best to keep white potatoes out of baby's diet until between 8-10 months of age. White potatoes do not typically pose an allergy risk so you should feel safe introducing them to your baby as early as 7 months of age.instead you can start with sweet potato, which is more nutritious.

Question: My baby is 5 months 19 days old...can I introduce solid food from now onwards.
Answer: Don't start weaning before baby completes 6 months as there kidneys aren't developed yet to digest just breast feed your baby. Still you feel like to start if the baby is able to hold the neck and shows interest to grab the food when your eating you can start with dal ki kani, rice gruel, carrot juice.
Start with little and check whether it suits him or not. Keep the same food for 3 consecutive days. Try to avoid outside packed food as it contains lot of preservatives. Give homemade food. Don't add salt, sugar, honey till baby completes one year.
Hope this will help you definitely.
