Answer: Hello, here are few tips that you can try to wean from nipple shield 1. Immediately before breastfeeding baby, hand express or pump just until let-down and then latch baby on. This can reduce baby’s frustration that comes from wanting to feed and not getting milk immediately. 2.Ensure to offer as much as breast tissue in mouth for deep latch if you are having pain then unlatch and relatch once again. 3. If baby is not ready to latch without shield try with shield once baby is comfortable unlatch remove shield and try latching him directly from nipple just continue this to reduce the amount of time using shield. 4. Breastfeed frequently and as often as baby wants – this is called “on demand” feeding. this allow you to know when he is ready to nurse and prevents baby from getting over-hungry and frustrated.  Please dont stress and lose patience this won’t be an immediate change, and it’s natural for you and baby to need an adjustment period. Keep trying as often as you can to offer the bare breast (without the shield) but don’t be upset if he rejects it initially. It will take time .
Answer: hi dear it sounds like the baby has a preference over nipple the baby Shirley has a nipple confusion because the baby can feel the difference on nipple of a bottle or a nipple Shield the texture and the feel is different than when the baby is directly feeding from your breast the texture and feeling is again a different of nipple so you cannot really a go ahead and stop nipple Shield all of a sudden but you need to cut back with nipple Shield gradually you need to make the child practice to have milk directly it is going to take some time but then it will happen please let the baby latch as long as you can please give a lot of skin to skin contact it helps the baby to latch more that too directly.. Hope this helps!
