Question: Mire oftenly water is coming out from my 5 month old baby eyes..
Answer: Hello dear. Many healthy young infants can have watery or ''mattery'' eyes. It is normal for parents to wonder if their baby has pinkeye or aneye infection. Actually, the usual cause is a small, blocked tear duct. Fortunately, it is harmless and won't affect ur baby's eyes.
A simple remeedy will fix it. Carefully clean the eyelids using a warm, wet washcloth if tears build up and leave crusts. For infants, you may try gently massaging the area 2 to 3 times a day. Using a clean finger, rub the area from the inside corner of the eye toward the nose. This may help to open the tear duct.
Hope this helps.
Question: Hi.. my baby girl is 2 months 17 days old.. she is getting more tears frm her eyes.. what is the reason ? Please tel some solution to reduce water frm her eyes
Answer: Dear, that's absolutely normal.
It appears to be a tear duct blockage in the right rye of your baby.
Although we need to check for discharge, colour yellow or green, dry or crusty.
You should try massaging her tear duct that is present on both the corners of eyes, the corner attached to nose side.
So gently put your finger on the corner of her eye and slowly push downwards towards the nose.
Do this 7-8 times in a day.
Do report to your paediatrician if your baby has a fever or cries and tries to rub her eyes or the eyes are swollen.
Infection in newborns very common.
So do not worry. And follow the advice you will see a difference in a week.
But if you find it hard to understand the massage exercise visit your eye specialist and ask for help, he will brief you about tear duct probing which is done to cure tear duct blockage to help your child pass tears into nose, the normal way as we do.
Hope it helps!
