Question: My son is 18months old...from last few days he has developed white patches in mouth...wat can i do
Answer: Hello dear. Dear it could be thrush. If you touch the patches gently with a clean finger, you'll find the base is raw and may bleed. Your baby may be unsettled or only feed for a short time. He may pull away from your breast while feeding because his mouth is sore . Thrush causes curdlike white patches inside the mouth, especially on the tongue, palate(roof of the mouth and/or back of the throat) and corners of the mouth. Sometimes thrush patches are painful, but often they are not. Some home remdies that help:- 1. ) Probiotics found in yogurt and breastmilk-- serving of acidophilus powder on your nipple while breastfeeding, as this benefits both you and baby and your infected areas. Keep in mind, nursing may be difficult, but if you can get baby to latch on this should begin to resolve the bacterial imbalance. You can include curd in ur baby's diet. 2.) Reducing your sugar intake is essential, as a sugary diet can make symptoms worse. 3.) Grapefruit seed extract mixed with distilled water is another way to combat the yeast causing thrush. swabbed on mom’s sore nipples and baby’s tender mouth before nursing, just like the recommendation with probiotics. Hope this helps.

Answer: Hello dear. Please take your baby to a dermatologist who can have a test done to understand the underlying cause of white patches on his body. Usually few patches signify a lack of certain vitamins. And these may appear in face or arm of d baby. If u find more of them and in different sizes and in different parts of d body then u must consider consulting a doctor. Hope d answer was helpful.
