Answer: Hi dear, It's just a week behind for 6 months.Yes,you can start giving solid diet along with breastfeed.remember the motive is to introduce variety of solids for taste and texture and not to increase weight through it.start very slow by introducing one solid at a time.watch out for any kind of indigestion or allergies.Home cooked food is more beneficial as they are fresh and free from any preservatives. Try giving him mashed banana, boiled mashed apple.ragi porridge with pinch of jaggery. Mashed boiled rice with daal water. Clear vegetable soups, tomato soups .mashed veggies like carrot and potato.homecooked idly is easy to digest too.khichdi is excellent now.you can also add some spices like jeera to add flavor.remember not to put salt in food before 1 year.youay add just a pinch so it doesn't appear bland.beleive me that much salt is just right.donot introduce cow milk products before 1 year,as this could give baby lactose intolerance.whole wheat roti dipp d it daal could also be given .juices should always be given in diluted form and never concentrated from.biscuits should be avoided too. Also refer the healofy app for daily updates on baby development and growth,as well as pregnancy care.it also gives you enormous info on post delivery baby care and diet.donot miss out!

Question: Now my baby is 6 months old so which diet chart i has to follow because healofy is provide 2 charts for 6 months old
Answer: Hello mam, let me share the diet chart with u. At starting give only one meal a day then gradually move to 2 meals. Give light and semi solids form of foods for example applesauce, pear sauce, mashed banana, mashes papaya, suji kheer, overcooked daily and khichdi with veggies, curd with rice or any gravy with rice, mashed boiled potatoes. U can all the above foods but make sure u hv to follow 3 days rule for example if u r giving applesauce first day then u hv to give applesauce for 3 days then change after 3 days n again follow this rule. At this stage give only one meal a day coz u r baby is new to food and his digestive system is not that strong so give him time to digest the food.

Question: Hi . Today my baby has completed 6 months. Now what diet should I give him. What diet chart or time table for diet should I follow. Please help.
Answer: Dear i followed a simple rule of keeping a gap of 3 hours for my daughter. I made sure to make her eat after every 3 hours. Below are some type of foods which u can give to ur baby :- 1.) Pureed vegetables (sweet potatoes, squash) 2.) Pureed fruit (apples, bananas, peaches) 3.) Pureed meat (chicken, pork, beef) 4.) Semi-liquid, iron-fortified cereal. 5.) Small amounts of unsweetened yogurt (no cow's milk until age 1) Some finger food favorites: O-shaped toasted oat cereal; small chunks of banana or other very ripe, peeled fruit like mango, plum, pear, peach, cantaloupe, or seedless watermelon; small cubes of tofu; well-cooked pasta spirals, cut into pieces; thin cheese strips or very small chunks of cheese; cut-up seedless grapes ... Most pediatricians recommend starting your infant on Yogurt around 7-8 months of age. Some pediatricians also recommend yogurtas a great first food (from 6 months+). Selecting a Whole Milk Yogurt is the most beneficial to your infant as babies need fats in their diets for proper growth. You can give ur baby a variety of food but in a puree or porridge state. Breakfast idly with breast milk or formula upma Roti with milk or formula mashed dosa mashed Snack boiled apple mashed banana puree vegetable soup diluted fresh fruit juices ragi milk ghee sugar Lunch dal rice mashed khichdi sooji kheer cerelac or nestum Snack whole grain puffs mashed potatoes tossed in butter peach puree Dinner should always be light as hard carbohydrate like wheat ragi dal can cause indigestion or loose motions Give sooji kheer nestum or cerelac by 8 pm u can keep feeding ur baby breast milk or formula as needed between the meals. Be sure to use alot of ghee as fats and oils help in gaining weight. Hope i helped.
