Answer: Hi, By 6th month end, babies usually double their weight. U can try ragi milk porridge, rice porridge. Mashed banana Boiled apple Mashed idly. Dont add salt/ any other sweeteners for baby under 1 year. Pls try only one food at a time. Give a gap of three days to try another food, so that you can see baby's reaction to the food you introduced. Completely puree everything. This is very important. Sometimes baby refuse food due to their texture. As baby is transitioning from bm to solids, each baby takes its own time. Give water in regular intervals & after food. Don't stop bm...pls feed bm as well.along with solids. Good luck !
Answer: Suru ke 6 month aapke baby ko sirf aur sirf mother feeding chahiye. Kam se Kam 1 saal tak cow milk is not advisable for kids. Formula milk is the good option till 1 year. Uske baad aap slowly solid food introduce kara sakti hain jaise: 1. Daal ka pani 2.coconut water 3. Dahi 4. Vegetables paste 5. Boiled and mashed fruits 6. Manna ragi for bonnie babies. Ragi is really very good for the kids. readymade cerelac is not very healthy for kids. you should give only when you are somewhere outside and only in case of emergency when you cant cook. in india nestle is a popular brand Hope this helps. :)
Answer: Thank you so much

Question: My daughter is 7 months 3 weeks old still she is not taking solid food..if we give she starts crying and refusing it...she is having milk and cerelac alone...how to make her have solid foods..
Answer: Some kids take time to get used to regular food. Start with smooth purées. First foods should be easy to digest, very soft and a texture that's close to the milk or formula your baby is used to. Start with baby rice cereal, maize-based cereals mixed with a bit of breast or bottle milk, or vegetables or fruit. Slowly start introducing semi solids (tasty) like porridge, kanji, with small pieces of boiled fruits veggies etc. It would need some patience, experiments and new receipes for kids. As they start accepting the taste, it would be easier for you.

Answer: Yes, it is normal. My baby also started to poop thrice. Just make sure whenever your baby poops its not too watery and make sure baby is not allergic to specific. Allergic reactions can be checked by giving the food for 3 days.

Question: Hi dr. My baby is 6 months and 23 days...her weight is 6 kgs...dr.said she is underweight...what to do... Whenever i try to give her food like cerelac, avocado etc she refuses to take and pukes sometimes
Answer: Dear try giving variety of foods as usually babies do this when they are introduced to the semi solids but the trick is to keep trying and offering new foods so that they would take it. Also offer food when your baby is hungry instead of breastmilk offer food. Below are some type of foods which u can give to ur baby :- 1.) Pureed vegetables (sweet potatoes, squash) 2.) Pureed fruit (apples, bananas, peaches) 3.) Pureed meat (chicken, pork, beef) 4.) Semi-liquid, iron-fortified cereal. 5.) Small amounts of unsweetened yogurt (no cow's milk until age 1) Some finger food favorites: O-shaped toasted oat cereal; small chunks of banana or other very ripe, peeled fruit like mango, plum, pear, peach, cantaloupe, or seedless watermelon; small cubes of tofu; well-cooked pasta spirals, cut into pieces; thin cheese strips or very small chunks of cheese; cut-up seedless grapes ... Most pediatricians recommend starting your infant on Yogurt around 7-8 months of age. Some pediatricians also recommend yogurtas a great first food (from 6 months+). Selecting a Whole Milk Yogurt is the most beneficial to your infant as babies need fats in their diets for proper growth. You can give ur baby a variety of food but in a puree or porridge state. Breakfast idly with breast milk or formula upma Roti with milk or formula mashed dosa mashed Snack boiled apple mashed banana puree vegetable soup diluted fresh fruit juices ragi milk ghee sugar Lunch dal rice mashed khichdi sooji kheer cerelac or nestum Snack whole grain puffs mashed potatoes tossed in butter peach puree Dinner should always be light as hard carbohydrate like wheat ragi dal can cause indigestion or loose motions Give sooji kheer nestum or cerelac by 8 pm u can keep feeding ur baby breast milk or formula as needed between the meals. Be sure to use alot of ghee as fats and oils help in gaining weight. Hope i helped.
