Question: Placenta - Anterior low lying means
Answer: Hello! Anterior means it's on the front of your uterus. Most placentas implant along the back. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just like being left-handed. Normal but less common. However, it means you will probably feel the baby move later, because it's like an extra pillow to cushion movements. Low-lying means it is also down lower than normal in your uterus. Technically the definition is that it's within 2 centimeters of your cervix, but not touching your cervix. It's VERY common before 20 weeks. The good news is that anterior placentas "move" more. Placentas don't really climb higher, but your uterus stretches as it grows, and your placenta will stretch up and away from your cervix. 1% of the time they don't move by delivery, and then you would need a C-section. But 99% chance it will move out of the way
Question: Low lying placenta anterior means?
Answer: Hi dear, few information to help to understand about it. Low-lying placenta, or placenta praevia, is a complication of pregnancy where the placenta that feeds the growing baby is attached to the lower part of the womb near to or covering the cervix. Low-lying placenta may be picked up during a routine 20-week ultrasound scan appointment. In some cases, a placenta that is seen to be low-lying will move upwards later in pregnancy. Any bleeding from placenta praevia at the entrance to the womb in the second half of the pregnancy can be heavy and a risk to the baby and the mother's health. After a low-lying placenta diagnosis, seek medical advice if there's any bleeding during pregnancy. Having a low-lying placenta means it is more likely a cesarean section delivery will be recommended.
