Question: I'm 7weeks pregnant and during my last week check up my bp was high 140/90 and for tat I'm taking bp tablets like ecosprin 75 and ranitidine 150.. is it recommended?? Wat will be the reason for high bp
Answer: Hello Dear High blood pressure during pregnancy also referred as gestational hypertension If you had high blood pressure before pregnancy it is likely that you continue with it in pregnancy it is very common,Your blood pressure is more likely to rise if you were overweight at the start of your pregnancy.  Your doctor will work out your body mass index (BMI). A high BMI of 25 or more, increases your chances of developing high blood pressure. mild or moderate high blood pressure won't cause any problems for you or baby. It is a sign of pre-eclampsia, a condition that influences placenta works. If the placenta is not working as well as it should, it can affect your baby's growth. This is because your baby may not be able to get all the nutrients and oxygen he needs. You may have very high blood pressure but feel absolutely fine. If it is too high, you may be advised to take medical care, monitoring, blood tests, urine tests. If you had high bp before you conceived you may b prescribe medication to keep your bp lower than 140/90.  It is best to keep your salt intake low, as having a lot of salt can push up your blood pressure. Ecosprin is blood thinner yu should have it and ranitidine is antiacid. Take care
