Question: My tsh level is 3.16 ..i m 11 week pregnant. Doc prescribed me thyronorn 12.5 mg ..is this level of tsh can harm my baby?
Answer: It is generally 12.5 micro gram that is a really small amount and not taking it can harm your baby more than taking it. Thyroid levels are known to fluctuate in pregnancyUntreated severe hypothyroidism in the mother can lead to impaired brain development. If hypothyroidism is managed and treated properly, then both mother and baby are likely to be well. The extra medical care that you receive will help you to have a healthy and successful pregnancy.Whether or not your baby will be born with hypothyroidism mainly depends on the cause for hypothyroidism in you.
I would suggest that you avoid soy products and gluten to help balance your thyroid.
