Answer: Thyroid hormone is important for proper growth and development of the baby. Once u start taking the tablets, your hormone levels will normalise, then there is no risk to baby. Make sure to take the tab every day and you can repeat blood test after a month to confirm if dosage is right. Based on your report, your doctor will alter the dosage. Don't worry..this condition can be well controlled with thyronorm tab.

Question: After getting pregnant my TSH level become very high but T3 T4 level is normal and after 6 week faetal growth is only 0.5cm no heart beat found still . I take thyroxine tablet daily but still I am worried about my pregnancy and also about my baby's health .what should I do?
Answer: I would suggest u to relax and stay calm. Everything will be fine. It's just too early to come to any conclusion dear. On ur next visit I am sure u will hear the heartbeat of ur baby. The heartbeat should be audible via doppler between 10-12 weeks. You are on the early side of this so it may not be detectable yet. Also if you are overweight or have an anterior placenta, it may make finding the heartbeat more difficult. A heartbeat should be visible via ultrasound by 6 weeks of pregnancy. Hope this helps.
