21 weeks pregnant mother

Question: I have short cervical length. Is any problems for normal delivery

1 Answers
Answer: Hi! The length of your lower uterus level is the cervical length which is connected to your vagina. Usually a normal cervical length is 3 cm long when not pregnant and its closed and rigid but during the course of pregnancy it becomes soft and dilated hence women with short cervix get cervical stitches to protect the baby, you might also be asked to do the same. Hope this helps!

Question: Minimum cervical length for normal delivery
Answer: Hello dear, The normal length of cervix is between 3 and 4 centimetres. With the start of labour, the cervix starts to expand and thin. This thinning is so much that it gets incorporated in the lower part of uterus. If the cervix is found to be 2 cm thick, effacement is about 50 percent. And less than 2 means baby is on the way and can come out anytime.
