10 weeks pregnant mother

Question: I have extreme hiccups and its my 10th week . I also face acidity. The whole night i cant sleep due to hiccups. Kindly suggest some remedy.

Answer: Hi dear, some remedies to hiccups: Sip iced water.   Keep one tablespoon of sugar under your tongue and wait till it dissolves Practice your deep breathing . Gargle with chilled water. It has been found to be effective. Suck or nibble on a slice of lime or ginger. Reason n cure of acidity: As progesterone to support your pregnancy, progesterone relaxes muscles in your body. This includes the muscles of your intestine. Slower moving intestine muscles mean that your digestion slows down. This allows gas to build up, which in turn leads to bloating, burping, and flatulence. 1 have smaller meals more frequently rather than three big meals in a day. 2 Waiting three hours after a meal before lying down.  3 Avoiding fatty and spicy foods, tea, coffee, chocolate and citrus juices. 4 Raising the head of the bed so that your shoulders are higher than your tummy. You can roll a towel and place it under your mattress or simply use several pillows to prop yourself up when you lie down.  5 You can also try the following foods or drinks to see if they help although there is not much scientific evidence of their effectiveness: Milk or curd (dahi). Skimmed or semi-skimmed milk is thought to work better than full-fat milk.  Bananas (kela).  Peppermint tea. One study showed that it helped pregnant women. However, peppermint tea, like other herbal teas, should be drunk in moderation during pregnancy.

    Thanks alot. Its really helpful. Peppermint tea helps me a lot. But dairy products does not suit me.
