7 weeks pregnant mother

Question: I have a sore throat, running nose, no fever but feverish feeling, cough, and the inside of my nose burns. I am not in India. I don't know what to do. Should I find a doctor near me or will i be okay? Will this affect my baby? Please advise.

Answer: Hello, you can do salt water gargle, steaming , saline drops you can put, you can warm liquids and soups like chicken soup, hot water with honey and lemon can work miracles. Honey soothes your throat, and the vitamin C in the lemon boosts the immune system.  Ginger juice helps relieve the pain. Sleeping with the head elevated will help in sinus drainage and improved breathing. menthol or eucalyptus in cough drops soothes the throat and unclogs the congestion. There are many home remedies for cold and cough during pregnancy if you are finding little releif then you can contact your gynaecologist immediately certain safe drugs can be prescribed by your doctor which is safe to take while pregnant.
