Answer: Hi. It would be best if you avoid it in 1st trimester as its crucial time. Once second trimester usg is done and everything is normal you can continue it. if you've had a healthy pregnancy, there's no reason why you and your partner can't have a full and satisfying sex life. Rest assured, having sex cannot harm your baby. During intercourse your baby stays cushioned and safe in the amniotic fluid. Also, the cervix is closed and has a mucus plug, which makes it impassable. Your husband will not be able to penetrate deep enough to reach your baby. And although orgasms can trigger uterine contractions, these do not cause any harm and are different from contractions during labour. However, your gynaecologist may advise you to not have sex if you: have a history or threat of miscarriage. have unexplained vaginal bleeding or spotting have abdominal pain or cramps have a history of cervical weakness are pregnant with twins or multiple babies have a low lying placenta or placenta pervia.

Question: Hello Dr. can I have sex during this period
Answer: Congratulations dear for pregnancy. sex is safe throughout pregnancy and will not hurt your baby if there are no problems. This includes the early weeks after you get pregnant. The developing amniotic fluid and sac and the muscle layers of your uterus cushion and protect your embryo from trauma as your pregnancy progresses. As long as you are comfortable, in the mood, and have an uncomplicated pregnancy, go ahead and enjoy your normal sexual activities.
