Question: I am 14 week pregnant, my doctor has suggested me calcium n iron tablets. Calcium tablet is ok with me but after taking iron tablet i got vomiting every time. How should i take iron tablet
Answer: Some people can't tolerate oral iron tablets, you can take it just after meals in full stomach though the absorption will be less. If still not tolerated you can skip it now if your hemoglobin levels are above 13grams Iron ascorbate soft gel capsules are available which are not metallic in taste and easily digestible and absorbed well. Discuss with your doctor about these preparations and iron injections which don't cause any nausea, vomiting, constipation or stomach troubles. if need arises, you can take iron injections safely. Hope this information is useful for you.
