Question: Iam 6 weeks pregnant tsh is 7.1 doctor told to take thyroxin 50 mg any problem
Answer: Yes dear you should start taking thyroxine. In a non pregnant state normal tsh should be less than 5 but during pregnancy this cut off decreases, particularly during first trimester it should be less than 2.5. But nothing to worry, just start taking thyroxine and get your repeat thyroid profile done after 3 weeks.
