Answer: Hello dear. If stool has visible mucus or green in color it can be a sign of bacterial infections. It also happens if the baby is on more of formula milk. You can consult your pediatrician, so that the doctor would be able to treat this. Not to worry, your baby would be fine. Take care.

Question: My 1 month old baby s passing green colour stools.. what to do?
Answer: Dear Your baby may be gulping a lot of milk at once. This can hit his tummy too fast, creating air bubbles and explosive green poos. You can try a laid-back feeding position to ease this problem. Your baby can relax and feed for as long as he wants, comfortably supported by your body. Because you're lying back, your milk won't flow too fast. Your baby may be sensitive to medication that you're taking, such as antibiotics or iron supplements. He may also be sensitive to any medication he's having, or a vaccination he's just had. Your baby may be reacting to something you’ve eaten which is high in iron.

Question: My baby is passing green stools?
Answer: The occasional green stool is not unusual in the breastfed baby. Consistently green stools, however, are not normal for the breastfed baby. Most doctors don't seem to recognize this as a potential problem because they often define “normal stool” as that of the formula-fed infant.
