Question:Hii dr.yesterday I was admitted in hospital.dr told my cervix is open 2cm so how much time it will take to delivery
Answer: Hello dear, The normal length of cervix is between 3 and 4 centimetres. With the start of labour, the cervix starts to expand and thin. This thinning is so much that it gets incorporated in the lower part of uterus. If the cervix is found to be 2 cm thick, effacement is about 50 percent. And less than 2 means baby is on the way and can come out anytime.
Question:today dr checked and said cervix is 1 cm open.... can the delivery be happen soon now....
Answer: There is still lot of time.
Early Labor Phase –The time of the onset of labor until the cervix is dilated to 3 cm.
Active Labor Phase – Continues from 3 cm. until the cervix is dilated to 7 cm.
Transition Phase – Continues from 7 cm. until the cervix is fully dilated to 10 cm.
