Answer: hi dear! echogenic focus is a small bright spot seen in the baby's heart on an ultrasound exam. This is thought to represent mineralization, or small deposits of calcium, in the muscle of the heart. Fetal development will be observed for any possible abnormality. As long as all the examinations are normal, there is no reason why a child with an echogenic intracardiac focus may not grow up to be perfectly normally it is seen in the middle of the pregnancy will not go away before delivery. Since they do not cause problems for the baby, additional ultrasounds to follow-up on the EIF are not needed. This is NOT a heart defect, it does NOT change the function of the heart, and it does NOT cause heart problems so dont worry. take care dear. i hope this information is helpful to you!

Answer: Dear Echogenic foci within the left ventricle of the heart have been found in a minority of fetuses and generally are believed to be a normal variant. Echogenic foci within the left ventricle of the fetal heart represent papillary muscle mineralization. Hope this helps.

Question: Hi ma'am I'm 25 weeks pregnant At 24 weeks I have done my Tiffa scan The results given that there is echogenic focus in left ventricle is it serious?? I'm worried about this.. Please answer me
Answer: Hi! Fetal Echocardiogenic Foci are common findings and are commonly seen inside heart chambers during routine fetal heart scanning, the left ventricle is most frequent location, Although they probably represent a normal variant of papilary muscle development, they should be monitered as a possible risk of congenital heart defect. Good luck!
