Answer: Hello dear. I have been there and i know how hard it is to make them transition from semi solids to solids. Here are few tricks that we tried with my daughter when she was REALLY little and ate hardly anything: Keep offering the solid you are attempting to get him to eat. He doesn't HAVE to eat it, but he should be exposed to it. He may pick it up and play with it and feel it. That's ok. He is getting used to it--it's a process. Offer soft foods cut up in small pieces. He might be more inclined to actually put a soft bite of banana in his mouth than a crunchy cracker. Bananas, cooked peas and carrots, avocado, plain cooked macaroni, etc. And cut them smaller than you think necessary. Sometimes it helped to give my daughter a spoon and let her try to feed herself. She might have only gotten a couple of bites into her mouth, but she was more likely to keep it in her mouth, chew, and swallow it. Offer the new food first when he's really, truly hungry. If you want him to try a banana but you offer it after his yogurt or whatever, he won't be hungry and will have little motivation to try something new. Maybe while you're prepping breakfast, sit him in his high chair and give him a few bites of the banana to look at/play with/attempt to eat while you chop up the rest of the banana to go in his breakfast. Remain calm. This is sooooooo hard because it can be frustrating and nerve-wracking when your child eats a diet of about three things. But if you are anxious at mealtimes, he absolutely will pick up on that. I can tell you from experience that it will not help the situation. Keep working with him and see if he improves. With our daughter we knew she couldeat other things, she just didn't want to eat some of them. She's almost 4 now and her diet isn't amazing, but it varies more now than it did even 6 months ago, and every few months we're able to add a few more foods and textures to her diet. If you aren't seeing some kind of improvement over the next few months (I wouldn't give it anymore than 3 months) then you should definitely schedule an appointment with your pediatrician to determine if he needs to be assessed for any developmental issues. Hope this helps.

Question: My baby completed 6 and half months. Her weight is 6.2 kg.I have started to give her solid foods starting from cerelac, dal pani, sooji. She sometimes love to have 2spoons of cerelac and sometimes she refuses to take 1 spoon, day by day becoming fussy with food.Am so frustrated. Please suggest how to give or start solid food? May be am not getting any idea.
Answer: Hi, By 6th month end, babies usually double their weight. U can try ragi milk porridge, rice porridge. Mashed banana Boiled apple Mashed idly. Dont add salt/ any other sweeteners for baby under 1 year. Pls try only one food at a time. Give a gap of three days to try another food, so that you can see baby's reaction to the food you introduced. Completely puree everything. This is very important. Sometimes baby refuse food due to their texture. As baby is transitioning from bm to solids, each baby takes its own time. Give water in regular intervals & after food. Don't stop bm...pls feed bm as well.along with solids. Good luck !

Question: Hi My Baby Girl is 1 year old . Suddenly she stopped accepting food. At the transition towards turning one year it seems a major change in her attitude. Earlier she used to take her 3 meals in a day very normally. I used to give her soji ki kheer or porridge in breakfast then khichdi in lunch and dal with mashed roti or upma in dinner. But now from last 15 days she is not accepting any of this food item. She doesn't have milk also except BM. Whatever i offer her dhe just do thu thu thu and shout and cry a lot if i try to feed her forcefully. Please suggest me what should i do..thanks
Answer: Dear don't worry it's just a phase which will pass soon. Have patience. May b she is teething.. During teething babies go through lot of pain in gums and discomfort.. They also refuse to eat at that time.. It will take longer than usual to feed her but make she is full of her tummy. Try to give her different different food or the type of food which she likes most.. Semi liquid food will be helpful.. Feed her bm frequently. Offer small quantity at a time.. Let her play and then offer more.. Don't force feed her or else she might vomit.. Soon she will be having her nornal diet again. Don't worry
