Question: Hi! I am now at my 13th week and has been blessed with twins. I have been prescribed with iron and calcium supplements now. But every time I take my iron tablet I start throwing up and I almost vomit all foods I take before tablet as well as after taking tablets. Hence my doctor advised me to take emeset before food. I would like to know as in what kind of medication is this emeset and how advisable is it to take during pregnancy? Also can this vomiting be controlled through any other natural method. Kindly help me with this issue.
Emisset for preventing vomiting/nausea etc in pregnancy but medicines which are chweable are much safe like ondem md,
I used to suffer too
Eat toast on empty stomach first thing in the morning.
I had bad nausea over my first trimester and half of my second trimester. Things that worked for me:
1) Having a snack immediately upon waking up. Like even before you get out of bed to brush your teeth. It helped me a lot.
2) Those lovely imli (tamarind/Puli) candy.
3) Oranges etc.
Hope you feel better soon & Take care.
