Answer: hi dear! A TORCH screen is a panel of tests for detecting infections in pregnant women. it will consist of screening for toxoplasma , rubella , cytomegalovirus and herpes virus. to see the igg and igm of each infection. igg will generally be positive for almost all the patients. as igg is indicative of past infections and igm is indicative of present infections. so do this test just to be sure if the pregnancy is exposed to any of these viruses as they can be passed on to the fetus . so do this test its necessary. take care.!

Answer: Hello dear. Yes torch test is necessary. A TORCH screen is a panel of tests for detecting infections in pregnant women. Infections may be passed on to a fetus during pregnancy. A doctor usually performs some components of the TORCH screen routinely when a woman has her first prenatal visit. Quadruple screening is done in the second trimester, that is, between 15 to 20 weeks of pregnancy, ideally after the first trimester screening test. Hope it helps.

The tests detect antibodies produced by the immune system when exposed to the infectious diseases. So yes it is necessary if ur gynae has prescribed it. Hope it helps.
