Answer: Hello dear. One way to increase amniotic fluid volume and potentially avoid this condition is simply by drinking more water.
Drinking 2-3 ltrs is what my doctor told me when I had less amnuitic fluid. Drinking coconut water helps meet your increased need for water when you're pregnant. This higher fluid need supports your increased blood volume, maintenance of amniotic fluid volume and fetal circulation. Drinking coconut water as part of your fluidintake provides you with variety in your routine. Hope it helps.

Question: Doctor said that my amniotic fluid is high.. Is there any problem for normal delivery?
Answer: Hi dear,
During pregnancy, amniotic fluid is the protective barrier or cushion for your baby. Though we never think about it at initial stages of pregnancy, but later stages it becomes an important criteria to detect baby's health. Women with inadequate AFI and women with more AFI are both not normal for sure. More than normal ranges fluid could lead to preterm labor by increasing more pressure build up. It could also be due to few reasons:
1- mother's sugar level out of control
2-baby not swallowing enough fluid
3- baby producing excessive urine
4- swelling up in baby's body with excess fluid
5- genetic reasons
Certain complications attached to this is preterm labor and Babies are also more likely to move into positions which aren’t ideal for birth.
There are certain treatments for this .you can talk to your doctor if it is really required.

Question: I'm 30 week pregnant with second baby doctor said that amniotic fluid is high...it looks like 34 week pregnant... It cause any problem to my baby..
Answer: Polyhydramnios is the excessive accumulation of amniotic fluid — the fluid that surrounds the baby in the uterus during pregnancy. Polyhydramnios occurs in about 1 to 2 percent of pregnancies.
Most cases of polyhydramnios are mild and result from a gradual buildup of amniotic fluid during the second half of pregnancy. Severe polyhydramnios may cause shortness of breath, preterm labor, or other signs and symptoms.
Mild cases of polyhydramnios rarely require treatment and may go away on their own. Even cases that cause discomfort can usually be managed without intervention. In other cases, treatment for an underlying condition — such as diabetes — may help resolve polyhydramnios.
If you experience preterm labor, shortness of breath or abdominal pain, you may need treatment — potentially in the hospital. Treatment may include medicatiom or drainage of excess fluid.
