Question: Hello Doctor i am 33 weeks pregnant and i am facing back pain from last four days is it a sign of early labour or wat pls help me with the solution

Answer: Hello Dear Back pain During pregnancy is because the ligaments in your body naturally become softer and stretch to prepare you for labour. This can put a strain on the joints of your lower back and pelvis, which can cause back pain.As your pregnancy progresses, your back has to work extra hard to balance your body. This makes you more prone to backaches.  Here are some home remedies.. *Massage your back Gently massage the muscles that run on either side of your spine or concentrate on your lower back. *Warm bath A warm bath, or a warm jet of water from a shower head can help in easing the pain.  *Hot or cold compress  A hot water pack or a compress placed on the lower back can help in soothing the pain. Cold compresses or ice packs too can help relieve the pain. You could also use a pack of frozen vegetables wrapped in a towel.  *Support belt a support belt can take some of your baby weight off your tummy muscles and back. However, do consult your doctor before. *Support pillow in bed  Sleeping on your side with a pillow placed under your tummy, A pillow placed under your knee may also help you sleep more comfortably. *Comfortable footwear Flat shoes or sandals that have a good grip can aid a lot to take the pressure off your back.  *posture when you sit If you have pain in your tailbone avoid slumping when sitting sit resting your back fully to the backrest of your chair, so that your back remains straight. Try using a soft cushion to support your back. If your back pain is unbearable and you prefer to use a cream, spray or gel, first check with your doctor. She may be able to prescribe one that is safe to use during pregnancy.
