Above all breast milk is very important and had all the necessary nutrients for the growth of the child and therefore one should try to give exclusive bm till at least 4-5 months. The more you give the more it is better weaning is a slow process. You should start with light foods and in small quantities. You should give be only one new thing in a day, wait and see if the baby is able to tolerate for the first 2-3 days and then add other thing. Foods that you can start with is soups, dal ka pain, Rice ka pani.
Mashed bananas and boiled apples wheat us heavy and difficult to digest,so you should not start immediately.
