Question: effect of thalesemia minor?

Question
Answer: You should find out during pregnancy whether your baby has thalassaemia. All pregnant women in the UK are screened for thalassaemia with a routine antenatal blood test. If the blood test is positive, your partner will also be invited for testing. The risk of your baby inheriting the condition can then be assessed.  Diagnostic antenatal tests, such as chorionic villus sampling (CVS) or amniocentesis can tell whether your baby has inherited the condition, and to what extent.
Answer: Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder in which the body makes an abnormal form of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the protein molecule in red blood cells that carries oxygen. The disorder results in excessive destruction of red blood cells, which leads to anemia. ... Thalassemia minor is a less serious form of the disorder.
