Question: Is induced labour painful?
Answer: Hello dear, your doctor will try to induce labor pain, If you're being induced, you'll go into the hospital maternity unit. Contractions can be started by inserting a tablet (pessary) or gel into the vagina. Induction of labour may take a while, particularly if the cervix (the neck of the uterus) needs to be softened with pessaries or gels. It's a safe procesure.
Inducing labor can take a few hours or as long as 2 or 3 days. It depends on how your body responds to your treatment. Inducing labor may take longer if you're pregnant for the first time or if your baby is less than 37 weeks.
