Question: Doctor according to my LMP I am 9 weeks 6 days now... Yesterday I had a vaginal scan and my gestational sac age calculated as 6 weeks 6 days with 1.96 cm.. Seen yolk sac but no fetal pole. They asked me to repeat the scan after 1 week. Is it normal to not seen a fetal pole at gestational age 6 weeks?
Question:I had my first scan on 7.09.18 which showed the gestational age as 6w 3d. Gestational sac was 1.9 cm n yolk sac was seen. Fetal pole was not seen. Is there anything to worry.
Answer: Hello dear, sometimes doctor didn't find fetel pole in early pregnancy. The fetal pole is a thickening on the margin of the yolk sac of a fetus during pregnancy. It is usually identified at 8 weeks with abdominal ultrasound imaging, and 6 weeks with vaginal ultrasound imaging. However it is quite normal for the fetal pole to not be visible until about 9 weeks.
Hope it helped, Take care urself...
Question:I did 1st scan today, my lmp is 27july.scan shows 5-6 weeks gestational age, FHR:100,yolk sac seen, tiny fetal pole seen. Is this normal??
Answer: Hi dear,
Generally, from 6 ½ -7 weeks is the time when a heartbeat can be detected and viability can be assessed. A normal heartbeat at 6-7 weeks would be 90-110 beats per minute. The presence of an embryonic heartbeat is an assuring sign of the health of the pregnancy.
Yolk sac also seen for you. Fetal pole is also there. So don't worry dear.
It is normal.
You get further clarifications from your gynecologist with your scan reports.
