Question: Today I went for ultrasound. In report my water level is 4.9 . Is it harmful for the baby? What should I do to increase my water level?
Answer: Hi dear,
You have dangerously low fluid level.please check with your doctor and follow his instructions..ideally it should be between 10-18 cm. low AFI has few reasons:
birth defects, which could give kidney problems or urinary tract issues in baby, placental problem.if the placenta is not providing enough nutrition to baby, then baby would stop recycling fluid,if mother has fluid early leakage, maternal complications like diabetes, high BP, dehydration
baby could not develop lungs and muscles well.as from second trimester, baby starts to swallow the fluid and recycle it,increased chance of miscarriage or still birth, preterm birth
plenty of fluids to be taken.barley water is good in such conditions. some cases IV fluids are administered. injecting fluids through amniocentesis.amnio infusion through catheter during labor
Question: I went for ultrasound today, but no heartbeat was found, should I go for 2nd opinion? What should I do?
Answer: Hello dear,
It is absolutely normal and please donot worry. It is too early to feel or see any cardiac activity at 9 weeks. U are not able to get the heartbeat of baby so early. In fact, during the first 10 weeks of pregnancy, fetal heart rate is almost always confirmed as i too did not get my baby's heartbeat but doctor called me again after some weeks and then i got it.
So, don't worry and please rescan after few weeks.
