Question: Is low lying placenta dangerous?
Answer: Hi A low lying placenta, by itself, may not require any treatment. If it is early in your pregnancy, before the twentieth week, then there is a good chance that the placenta will shift into an upward position as your uterus expands. If the placenta stays at a low lying position but is not near enough to the cervix to be classified as placenta previa, then you might want to talk to your doctor about whether or not you will need to refrain from exercise or too much activity and sexual intercourse, things that can prompt bleeding. Some women with a low lying placenta may experience bleeding proceeding a delivery, so make sure to talk to your doctor about the course of action if that may be the case
