Question: Hi, my sugar test process was bit confusing. I had breakfast at 8:30 am and lab assistant provide me 100ml Glucon D diluted solution was very thick. After 2hours consumption they had taken my blood and urine samples for sugar test which was showing 138. Is it the right procedure for OGCT or else I need to go for another sugar test??
Answer: For me the doctor advised to take the sugar test without taking breakfast. First blood sample was taken at 8am and after that had glucose water and took another sample post 2hours. In between I didn't take breakfast. If your level is below 155 after taking glucose water, your sugar level is normal.
