Question:hi doctor.. my baby is 50 days old.. she is on breastfeed only.. she hasnt pooped since yesterday morning.. is this normal.. please advise
Answer: Hi dear it's totally fine. Just check your baby passing urine 6 times a day. You have to be in what you are eating. Your diet should be light and healthy. Because in early months of baby's birth whatever you eat that directly effects the baby. So avoid eating spicy oily gassy food which make baby constipated, baby may have digestional problems. So eat healthy. Drink lots of water to prevent dehydration. Keep breastfeeding your baby every two hours dear. Give baby tummy time. Massage baby's stomach.
Question:My baby is there days old and she hasn't pooped fr one whole day. Is it Normal?
Babies can poop as often as after feed or go without poop for 4 consecutive days
All of which is common in breastfeed babies so don't worry
Just ensure your Baby is feeding well
If your baby goes without poop more than 4 days then consult your pediatrician regarding same
However massage your baby 2-3 times a day especially the stomach area it would help babys pass gas as well as with bowel movement
If your baby is in pain or has a hard stomach and none of the above help Ask your pediatrician about using an over-the-counter stool softener to make it more comfortable for your baby to have a bowel movement, but never give her a laxative without her doctor's approval
Take care of your self and baby .
Question:My baby is 7 days old. She has not pooped since yesterday. Is it normal? She passes urine 6-7 times in a day.
Answer: it is normal, specially if she is on exclusive breast feed , cause almost all of it is absorbed by the body and there is not much left to poo out.Start massaging her little belly giving a little pressure, in a clockwise motion (this helps clogged gas and poop to move through the intestines)..it is effective.
