Answer: Hello dear, you can start with any of these foods while starting solids in your baby’s diet at 7 month. Its better to start with veggies/fruit purees one at a time.I would suggest go easy with veggies like squash,sweet potato.... and maybe later peas, carrots. Fruits u can try banana, apple,plums, peaches, pears....To make rice cereal at home, take brown rice/ boiled rice. dry fry till aroma comes. powder and cook 1 tsp with water till cooked. add BM/ FM if needed.... You can also mix these veggie/fruit purees with rice cereal. makes it more palatable and also fiber rich, so chances of constipated are highly reduced. Rice is gluten free and easier to digest than wheat....Grains/Cereals/Pulses: Oats, Barley, Rice, Semolina (Rava/Sooji), Split yellow gram (moong dal), whole green gram. Wheat can be introduced during the last week of 6th month. Non-Vegetarian foods: None Dairy: None. Avoid giving cow’s milk as the main drink till your little one is 1 year old. Stick to breast milk or formula till then. Avoid sugar and salt from a 6 month old baby’s diet....Keep in mind that breast milk or formula should be the major part of a six-month-old baby’s diet. Answer: Hi dear, Yes,you can start giving solid diet along with breastfeed.remember the motive is to introduce variety of solids for taste and texture and not to increase weight through it.start very slow by introducing one solid at a time.watch out for any kind of indigestion or allergies.Home cooked food is more beneficial as they are fresh and free from any preservatives. Try giving him mashed banana,boiled mashed apple.ragi porridge with pinch of jaggery. Mashed boiled rice with daal water.
